The Cambria County American Legion season is underway and new changes are in effect for 2009.
League membership will number 15 teams as Richland/Windber and Meyersdale are back in the fold. Consequently, league officers voted to reinstate the divisional and playoff system in place from 2005 through 2007. The only difference from prior years years is that only the top eight teams will make playoffs, and not the top 10 teams. Playoff brackets and seeding priority will remain the same with no re-seeding after each round.
Finally, the league website will once again allow players and fans to follow individual and team statistics on a daily basis. Login and use the tabs across the screen to track batting averages, ERAs, scores and standings throughout the summer. |
